FAQs

What is your service area?
I do in-person coaching and training in San Francisco, CA roughly within this area (click to see map) and Walnut Creek, CA.
What if I live outside your service area?
If you are not in my service areas, I offer three options depending on your goals for your pup:
Remote consultations and coaching
Meeting within my service area for in-person coaching.
Coming to you for a travel fee to do in-person direct dog training or pup-parent coaching. This fee will vary based on distance.
Can you coach me remotely?
Yes! We can set up virtual coaching (Zoom or Google Meet) in lieu of in-person sessions based on your needs and circumstances. Remote coaching allows me to work with clients who are not local; have pups that are sensitive to new people in the home; and need more flexible options for their schedule.
Why is the Initial Consultation online?
I conduct the consultation virtually because it offers a couple key advantages:
Flexibility and efficiency in scheduling times that work for your busy life.
Ability to focus on you and your pup without the distraction of me meeting your pup in the home. Especially critical for pups that are fearful, shy, anxious, and/or have some stranger danger.
Do you only work with new puppy parents and puppies?
Not at all! I work with a range of clients including:
experienced dog parents with new pups or rescues
clients who’ve had their dog for awhile and have decided it’s time for additional training, or are experiencing a new behavior that is undesirable.

Strengthened our bond
Bailey is a 2.5 year old Blue Heeler who is very sure that what she wants is right. I'm so glad that we had Jung as our trainer; Bailey loved her and would almost wiggle her butt off when she saw Jung coming. Jung helped us to make training more fun, which was beneficial to Bailey and me. I have more confidence that Bailey will listen to the directions I give.

Reduced barking and better socialization
I have been training my dogs, April and her son, Nene, with Jung and it has been a huge help for me. When we started my dogs didn't know sit or touch and now they do. Jung also helped my dogs calm down sooner after the door bell rings and in the company of more people and other dogs.

Better ability to settle down
Jung is a dedicated and talented trainer. She developed instant rapport with our Shih Tzu, Gus, and the payoff of her work with him was immediately apparent in his behavior and demeanor. (Besides that, he absolutely loves her!) Jung clearly loves dogs and understands them incredibly well. If you’re looking for a kind and talented trustworthy trainer who will deliver solid results, then look no further.

Peace of mind when we go out
Jung helped me improve my 9 month old, miniature Australian Shepherd, Gary's recall and loose leash walking. Off-leash, he would not come when I called him, which scared me for his safety. On-leash, he would pull like crazy. At home, he listens fine but outside, all bets were off.
I live outside of San Francisco and did a remote behavior and training evaluation with Jung. It was fantastic. It's been a few weeks since our session and Gary's behavior has much improved.
Jung is super knowledgeable and passionate about supporting dog parents like me. I highly recommend her!

Progress with resource guarding
Highly recommend! Jung is so patient and caring with our dogs. She uses positive reinforcement methods and has been working with our dogs for the past year. Our dogs (1 husky mix and 1 French bulldog) resource guard around food, toys, and us which has been difficult for us to manage, specifically in our home.
Treating resource guarding has been a long process but Jung has helped us implement tools such as Drop, Leave it, hand targeting, and muzzle conditioning. She has helped us become better at noticing our dogs’ behaviors and signals earlier on in order to correct them at the right time. This has been very helpful indoors as well as outside on our daily walks.
We also like that Jung always follows up each session with email notes on what we worked on as well as the actionable items for us to practice before our next session. She is very detailed and responds to any question we have!

Calmer and barks so much less now
Jung is such a patient trainer to work with. My dog Strawberry needed a slower approach and Jung was able to go at Strawberry’s pace. We tackled multiple issues in a session and improved each week. She even showed my children some training techniques so we could help Strawberry be more settled in our new home! She is calmer and barks so much less now. I can’t recommend Jung enough!

Prepared us to fly with our pup
Jung is a fantastic trainer. She’s reliable, communicative, and highly professional. She loves and respects dogs deeply and only uses positive reinforcement. Jung plans and guides sessions focused on the top needs/goals you have for your pet. She’s very attentive to meeting these goals and is good at finding extra training opportunities alongside when time allows. We like how she offers pup parent coaching, as well as direct training for your pet to speed up the process and observe her training.
We worked with Jung on polite walking, leash frustration and calm greetings for our 1-year-old mini schnauzer. She also helped us prepare to fly for the first time with our pup (a 5.5 hour roundtrip flight to NY). Jung helped us get our dog to the point where she LOVED her carrier and even scheduled one of our trainings to be a test run at the airport. Both our flights were incredibly smooth, and it was 100% thanks to Jung’s training. Having the preparation and peace of mind from Jung’s sessions helped us and our pup feel confident going into that new experience. We would recommend her to anyone looking for 1:1 training for their pet.

Instrumental in addressing challenging behaviors
We've had such a fantastic experience working with Jung! She’s been instrumental in helping us with our two dogs, Murphy and Ripley, including reactivity with other dogs, leash frustration, and leash pulling. Ripley, who is extremely energetic and easily distracted, has made great progress thanks to Jung’s calm, patient, and positive approach. It has made all the difference and it’s clear she genuinely loves working with dogs (and the people who love them!)
Her deep knowledge of dog behavior and psychology really shines, and she explains everything in a way that’s easy to understand and apply. On top of that, she provides notes after each session, product recommendations and simple, actionable homework assignments to help us continue making progress between sessions.
Beyond her expertise, Jung has a special way with dogs—Murphy and Ripley absolutely adore her. Her personalized approach have made training a positive and rewarding experience for all of us. We couldn’t be happier with the results and can’t recommend Jung highly enough to anyone looking for a skilled and compassionate dog trainer.

Individualized support made training fun & less stressful
My puppy, Luke, is a small chihuahua/poodle/terrier mix who started training with Jung when he was 6 months old. By coaching me on basic commands as well as demonstrating strategies for leash training, potty training, and socializing, I was able to continue practicing those lessons with Luke on my own. I would definitely recommend her if you're looking for a patient trainer for your new pup.

Huge strides with loose leash walking
Our 2 1/2 year old chocolate lab, Kodi, loved Jung! I truly appreciated how friendly, patient, kind, and persistent she was with her. Jung helped make our walks less of a wrestling match (yay!) and with some dog etiquette too. She also helped acclimate Kodi to a gentle leader and cement some basic commands that were not really consistent before. Jung was always happy to share different training tips, tricks, and insights into dog behavior that we could incorporate when on our own. We all enjoyed working with her!

Amazing improvement in recall
Jung has been a true pro at reinforcing good behavior and ensuring that our Shih Tsu, Isla, responds promptly to coming when called. We've also really appreciated Jung's focus on positive reinforcement and her patience during training sessions (both dog and owners).
We highly recommend Jung to any dog owners looking to improve their dog's behavior and strengthen their bond. Jung is an incredible trainer who is professional, knowledgeable, and kind. We absolutely adore working with her!

Transformation with impulse control
Ms. Maya is a 3 year old German Shepherd/Plott Hound mix and a total bundle of energy. She loves people and has always had a hard time controlling her excitement as a puppy. However, jumping up to say Hi at almost 60 pounds, is no longer cute.
Jung was amazing with training both Maya and me! I appreciate the feedback she gave me to better understand Maya as her mom and to train her outside of our sessions. Jung was a total delight to work with- would highly recommend!

A world of difference with leash reactivity
When it comes to rescues, you're never really sure what you're getting into with their personality and needs. I adopted Pelican, a 11 pound yorkie mix when she was 6-7 years old and have had her about 3 years. As we've grown together, she has become increasingly more fearful of large breeds, often lunging and barking on leash.
Jung always put both Pelican's and my needs first, going beyond training tools by making recommendations on gear, treats, motivation, and management tactics. I'm looking forward to continuing training with Jung so I can be the best dog owner possible for Pelican!
