🐶How it works
1. Discovery Call
Ready to move forward? Starting with a free 15-minute discovery call, we’ll briefly review your needs so I may know how I can be of service.
2. Behavior Consultation and Training
We’ll begin with a deep-dive behavioral consultation, in which we discuss your training goals for your pup, and I share my analysis and insights into the reasons driving the undesirable behaviors that your dog rehearses. I’ll also review management and training options to provide you immediate relief and more confidence.
From here, we will discuss a plan of action curated to fit your needs. We’ll decide whether it makes more sense for me to coach you in training your pup, have me train your dog for you, or a combination of both.
3. Pup-tastic!
Following your pup’s customized training plan, you’ll begin to enjoy the benefits of a more well-mannered pup! Experience a more joyful relationship with your fur ball as you learn to work as a team and your pup behaves and follows your cues more attentively.
Training Services🐾
-
Behavioral Consultation
This is our first step in working together. Meet with me for a one-hour, remote, online session.
After booking, I send a questionnaire to learn more about the specific behaviors you’d like to work on with your dog. I analyze and prepare initial training recommendations including practical tips and immediate actions to help manage the behavior of concern. I also demo preliminary training that you can do on your own and advise on further training options.
The online format allows us to do a deeper dive without the distraction of my meeting your dog in your home. I send a comprehensive follow up email within 24 hours that includes notes from our session and additional resources.

The in-person coaching is only available for clients based in San Francisco and Walnut Creek.

After our behavioral consultation, I will train your dog for you!
Ideal for dog parents who don’t have time to do the training themselves or want more immediate results. I train your dog privately on the specific behavior we’ve discussed at your home or other appropriate location.
This option is only available for clients based in San Francisco and Walnut Creek.
I provide guidance and training on:
-
Bringing a dog into your life is an exciting decision that comes with many joys and responsibilities. I’ll help you think through some factors that will affect a good match for you and your new family member including, but not limited to, age and size of dog, rescue or purebred, energy and lifestyle match, and preparing for the new family member!
-
When you bring home a wiggly little fluff ball, I can help S.E.T. you and your puppy up for success with Socialization, Enrichment, and Training. This begins with guidance on welcoming your new family member home to laying down a foundation for behaviors that will make your time together more enjoyable. Some of these include:
Crate training
House training
Alone time training
-
These are some of the behaviors that help make your canine companion a good canine citizen:
Loose leash walking
Sit
Down
Stay
Touch
Wait at thresholds
Go to mat
Recall (come when called)
Polite greeting (not jumping)
Quiet
-
Some of the challenging behaviors I can help manage and improve:
Barking at door bells or door knocking
Barking and lunging on leash
Jumping on people
Impulse control
Dog/Cat relationships
-
Training your dog to be comfortable with grooming and being handled is really important for their physical and mental health as well as your own peace of mind as their parent! A dog that is uncomfortable with either of these will be stressed and harder to work with especially when they are in pain or unwell (think about those vet appointments!). Some common skills:
Brushing fur and teeth
Nail clipping
Paw handling and other areas of the body
What is “pawsitive training”?
I train with methods that are positive, force-free, and evidence-based because this is the safest, most humane, and effective way to change behavior in the long-term. In dog training lingo, we call it R+ training, or positive reinforcement. This means I will neither suggest nor use punishment or aversive methods when working with you and your pup. If you’ve worked with other trainers who were not R+, that’s completely understandable. We often seek help when we are in crisis, and may not have had the resources to thoroughly explore available options.
I think of R+ training as Relationship Positive training. When we work with dogs in a manner that reinforces them in a pleasant way for the behavior we do want, we build a history of “pawsitive” events. We become the source of fun and goodness, reinforcing our relationship between us and our pups. With R+ methods, we change the behavior and experience from undesirable to pup-tastic!
As someone who has practiced meditation for many years, R+ training aligns with my values of doing no harm. I approach my work from a place of non-judgement and empathy to understand your circumstances, and to support you and your pup in creating a harmonious, gratifying, and joyful life together.
